Preparing Your Home
A quick checklist before listing
Exterior
- Remove all items from the yard and driveway (cars, toys, tools, bikes, basketball hoops, etc)
- Ensure the lawn is mowed and well-kept / all driveways and walkways are shoveled
- Uncover and arrange any patio furniture (including grills)
- Sweep / blow patios, decks, and driveway
Whole House
- Replace burnt-out light bulbs
- Open all blinds and window coverings
- Clean windows inside and out
- Clean all floors and walls (don’t forget the baseboards!)
- Remove all pet items or seasonal decor
- Remove any personal items you don’t want photographed (photos, personal items, etc)
- Declutter shelves and surfaces
- Turn off ceiling fans
Kitchen
- Remove small appliances and cleaning products
- Remove magnets and papers from refrigerators and other appliances
- Ensure sink, stove, and countertops are clear of dishes or unnecessary items
Bedrooms & Living Areas
- Remove clutter from shelving and nightstands
- Make bed and remove wrinkles from bedding
- Remove hampers, dirty clothing, and shoes
- Organize walk-in closets
Bathrooms
- Remove all personal hygiene items from countertops and shelves
- Remove plungers and toilet brushes
- Remove all floor mats
- Close all toilet seat covers
- Place a new toilet paper roll
- Open all shower curtains
